Mark Schneider Obituary

Mark E. Schneider, 74, of Rochester, Wisconsin, passed away on June 29, 2022.  He was born in Dubuque, Iowa, and graduated from Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. After serving in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam, he attended college at UWM and began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration.  For 10 years, he also served as Executive Vice President of PASS, a union representing the technical side of the Air Traffic Control System.  He retired from the FAA in 2011.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Susan (Logemann), brother, Ralph, brothers-in-law Ernest (Aksorn) and Gerald (Dorothy) Logemann and sister-in-law Lorna (Owe) Petersen.  He was the proud and loving uncle of Susan, David, Michael, Karen, Kathy, Andrew, Matthew, and Jennifer.  He was further survived by many cherished relatives and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, and Eileen (Connolly) Schneider and his brothers, Paul and John.
Mark genuinely loved people.  He never met a stranger that wasn’t quickly considered a friend.  He always saw the unique, positive qualities in others and never missed an opportunity to let them know how much he appreciated them and the difference they made in his life.
He was an animal lover and always enjoyed watching the wildlife who visited the pond in their back yard.  He especially loved dogs and he and Susy gave a loving home to many of them through the years.
Mark was passionate about his faith, his family, and his friends and took pleasure in creating stained glass, wood-work projects, and, more recently, sewing and machine embroidery.  And he especially enjoyed the daily visit of the Amazon Prime Truck bringing more stuff.  In his final years, Mark remained good-natured, positive and loving as he met the challenges of his debilitating illness, causing him to be wheel-chair bound, He delighted in giving wheelchair rides to his great nieces and nephews.  Whenever he was asked how he was doing, he promptly replied “just rollin' through life.”  He was greatly loved and will be missed by many.
