Lila G. (VanAirdale) Szymborski

Lila G. Szymborski (nee VanAirsdale), age 94, of (Wild Rose, South Milwaukee, and  Waterford), peacefully passed away on July 31st, 2022, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI. Lila was born on February 27th, 1928, in Wild Rose, WI to the late Arden and Dorothy (nee Davies) VanAirsdale. She married the late Leo J. Szymborski on October 18th, 1947, in South Milwaukee. Lila graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1946. She went on to raise her family and work in the office of a bookstore.  After they both retired the loving couple left South Milwaukee and moved to Wild Rose, WI in 1985 and  then moved to Waterford, WI in 2008.

Lila is survived by her three children; Sandi (Donald Larson) Schwahn, Karen (Michael) Freimark, and Craig Szymborski; grand children Kevin (Kelly) Schwahn, Kimberly (Keith) Boivin, Breanna (Josh) Salas; great grand children Lila, Wesley, and Delaney Boivin, Greyson and Zaiden Salas. She is further survived by step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Thelma (Daniel) Christensen and Geraldine McDermott, sister- in- laws, brother- in- laws, and grandson Todd Schwahn.

A celebration of Lila’s life will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at Integrity Celebration Center, (2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington, WI 53105).  A memorial service will start promptly at 1 PM and conclude with a time of fellowship until 3:30 PM. Lila will be laid to rest at a later date.
