Richard Lanting Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the departure of Richard (Rick) Lanting, who, at the age of 67, left us on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. His final days were at home in Waterford, tenderly surrounded by his beloved wife, children, and cherished pets, after courageously confronting a brief battle with cancer.

Born on May 25th, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI, to Robert and Phyllis Lanting (nee Kloman), Rick's journey was one marked by love, resilience, and dedication. In 1981, he found his soulmate in Pamela Lanting (nee Hopkins), and they united in matrimony on March 3rd, 1984. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising their three children in the communities of Muskego, WI, and Waterford, WI.

Rick's childhood spent in Milwaukee, as the youngest sibling in a family of five, was filled with cherished memories, particularly the family fishing trips to Eagle River. His professional path began in the Painters Union Local 781, where he honed his skills as a professional painter. With a vision and unparalleled dedication, Rick later transitioned into the home restoration industry, as the General Manager for Purofirst of Milwaukee, ultimately establishing his own business, Restoration Contracting, Inc., in 2012.

More than his professional achievements, Rick's essence was truly defined by his role as a devoted husband, father, and his most proud role, as Papa. Renowned for his witty one-liners and selfless nature, Rick's humor and gentle spirit brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. His memory will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Rick's legacy of love endures through his wife, Pam; his children, Lisa Lanting, Allison (Eric) Ade, Gregory Lanting; and his adored grandchildren, Renner, Ellody, Jayce, Greyson, and Asher. His life is also celebrated by his sister, Christine (Craig) Mitchell, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceding Rick in his journey were his parents, Robert and Phyllis Lanting, his brother, Robert Lanting, and his mother-in-law, Mary Hopkins.

In this time of reflection, our heartfelt gratitude extends to Cindy & Steve Nicoletti, & Dr. Richard Barney (and their dedicated staff) for their unwavering support, knowledge, and care.

Rick's memory will be cherished, his stories retold, and his laughter forever echoing in the lives he touched.
