Harriet Thomson

Harriet L Thomson, aged 92, passed away peacefully at Eldercare Cottages of Waterford WI, on June 9th, 2015. Harriet was born at her family home near Ogilvie, MN on March 22nd, 1923. She had a happy childhood growing up on the farm with her parents Mildred and Sam Ziegler,her 4 sisters Lois, Bernice, Marian and Dorothy and 1 brother Dick. She enjoyed her school years and loved to socialize. At the age of 19 Harriet married her sweetheart, Russell Thomson of Dalbo, MN on January 31st, 1942. In the following years they had 3 children: son Terry born in 1943, daughter Randee born in 1952 and daughter Melodee born in 1956. Harriet and Russ were married for 64 years at the time of Russ' passing in 2006. They had lived in various locations through the years in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Florida. Harriet was a bookkeeper by trade and enjoyed working for temp companies. She once said she didn't want to work a full time job because she didn't want to be tied down "in case someone should call and want to go out to lunch". Harriet was the proverbial social butterfly. Harriet's memorial service will take place at Siloa Church near Braham, MN on July 18th, 2015 at 11:00 in the morning. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
